Dies irae, Op. 163 (Organ Solo) by Vidas Pinkevicius

Regular price $6.00

This piece is based on the Gregorian chant sequence "Dies irae" and has dark and brooding character. At the root of this composition is the sound of the perfect fifths which gives this work a very archaic and cold character. It will be suitable to play for liturgy and recital whenever medieval sounding modal, soft to medium volume level music is desired. Dedicated to the memory of my father Vidas Pinkevicius (1949-2012). I first improvised it during a recital at Vilnius St Casimir's church on 2022-10-30. Hope you will enjoy it!
