This is a gentle meditation on the popular Ukrainian folk song "Oy Vershe Miy, Vershe" (Ой верше мій, верше), transl. "Oh my poem, poem". The tune is presented 3 times throughout the piece - the first time in the key of E minor on a solo stop, the second time in the key of G minor, also on a solo stop and the last time in a chordal texture. The meditation ends quietly as it started. Phrases of the song are connected with interesting ostinato motives which unify the piece. This composition will be very effective in all kinds of occasions where support for Ukraine is needed. Dedicated to Nadiya Velychko.
