This meditation is based on the Dutch Easter hymn tune Zingt voor den Heer een nieuw gezang (Sing to the Lord a New Song) by Frits Mehrtens. The tune is played in the right hand part with Cornet registration whereas the left hand and pedals play colourful ostinato figures around the tune in the keys of D major, F major and D major. This composition will be very effective in liturgical organ playing and recital programs whenever contemplative music is desired. Dedicated to Nils van Velzen.
