This is an original cantabile based on Old Hundredth hymn tune in the lyrical style in the key of G major. The hymn tune is presented in the left hand part as the lowest note of the chord. It alternates with the recurring 4 measure phrase in G major, D major and C major while the right hand part plays cantabile style melodies around it. The pedal part supports the harmony.
