Processional on National Anthem, Op. 136 (Organ Solo) by Vidas Pinkevicius (2022)
In this fanfare-like processional on National Anthem (God Bless Our Native Land) repeated chord texture and dotted rhythms dominate the score. Catchy refrain alternates with the phrases of the anthem. The first verse is presented in F major in the hands part and second time it moves to C major and can be heard in the pedals. The ending refrain rounds up the music and brings back initial melodic and harmonic material. This piece will be an effective addition to the liturgical and concert organ playing. Dedicated to Phil Lehenbauer. I recorded it at Vilnius University St John's church.
