This is a lyrical cantabile style piece based on the well-known hymn Shall We Gather at the River (HANSON PLACE) in the key of D major in 3/4 meter. The tune is presented in the right hand part on the solo registration. Left hand and pedal parts play colorful ostinato motives around it. Dedicated to Glenn Tompkins.
